Monitor events in custom event log

Postby ahitchmoth.summitcomp » Mon Apr 03, 2017 4:51 pm

OK.
I've completely befuddled myself....

I've created a custom event log called "Summitcomp" on a system and populated it with a single event. What I'm looking to do is to be able to tell LabTech about this event log, and get it to holler when a specific event occurs.

I've had no problem creating monitors for certain events in the usual System, Security, Setup and Application logs. But I can't even find a way to get Labtech to look into my custom log.

I know it has to be simple, but all the info I've found has yielded no success.

What am I missing?

Just so you'll see where it is, there's a screenshot of the event logs attached.
Thanks.

teamits,

Looks like I can get the registry method to work.
I sort of got locked into that mode "this HAS to work" when trying the "Template" method......

I was trying to avoid the former, but I've given up on the latter....

Registry method looks like the only way to go, since I'm in there anyway creating the custom log....

Thanks for the kick-in-the-head....

:)
