Help Exporting Dataview to Excel

Postby john.cntdtech » Tue Apr 24, 2012 3:48 pm

I am unable to export Dataviews to Excel. When I click "Export to Excel" Excel opens a blank workbook but LabTech pops up a message stating "An error occurred while trying to create the Excel file. Please ensure that you have Microsoft Excel installed." This only happens on 1 PC. Every other PC that I have tried it on works fine, including a PC with the same OS and Office version (Windows 7 x86 and Office 2010 x86.) I have tried a repair Office install and uninstalling and reinstalling Office and LabTech. I have opened a ticket with LabTech support, but they have not been able to help me. They claim it is an Office problem and want me to get support through Microsoft. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Help Exporting Dataview to Excel

If you scroll down to the very bottom of the list, there is a tiny 2 or 3 pixel tall white space. Right click in this space and select Export to Excel (Or Print).

This will export/print the dataview as a list!!

Screenshot: The screenshot shows the 'white space' in a Monitors list, but the functionality is the same for dataviews and other things/lists too!!
