Eventlog Dataviews Only Show Last 24 Hours of Events

Postby don.casey.priorpoint » Wed Mar 11, 2015 3:53 pm

I am trying to use the Event Logs Data views to review all Windows system logs (apps, system, security, etc...) but they only display the last 24 hours of events.

While I understand that if you are checking event logs daily, 24 hours would suffice, in this case these systems are checked weekly. How can I change the data views so that they do not restrict me to the last 24 hours of events?

Hello,

I checked our online documentation regarding viewing Event Logs older than 24 hours and found this link which I think will assist.

https://docs.labtechsoftware.com/LabTec ... istory.htm

I hope this helps answer your question. If not, please let us know and we will do our best to better address it.

Thank you,

Jon,

Thank you for the prompt response.

Unfortunately, this is not quite the answer I am looking for.

I am creating a (3) pane HUD that will display all event log Errors and Warnings for all systems on the left (2) pane stack. The right pane will display all new tickets. I need the data views for the event logs to display ALL Errors and Warnings that may be present in ALL event logs for each system, regardless of how old the events are. At the very least, the event logs need to display the last (7) days of errors and warnings.

I have experimented with modifying and saving a copy of the existing event log dataviews; however, no matter what I do they only display a 24 hour period. Where is this value controlled in the actual dataview? Do I need to create a dataview from scratch?

Again, thank you for your assistance.

Don

Hello Don,

The custom HUD you're working on sounds like an excellent idea but is beyond the scope of our regular support. However, an excellent resource you might want to explore is the site: http://www.labtechgeek.com/forum/index.php

It's a separate site from Labtech but they have a thriving community of people who may be able to assist your questions, or you may want to contact your Account Manager about purchasing some time with our Service+ team. I'm sorry we weren't able to provide a more detailed answer for you.

Thank you,
