Cacti & labtech integration

Postby rafal.friendly-solutions » Fri Mar 12, 2010 1:08 pm

I'm going to have to work on integrating cacti and labtech. Cacti will be able make really nice graphs that labtech doesn't have. Labtech will be able to grab the specific data we need for the graphs.

I'm looking for someone to help out on the cacti side. I can work the labtech/mysql side.

Any takers?

For those who don't know what cacti can do ( rrd ) here are some pics:

Cacti & labtech integration

You want to wait for the new version before doing this. No it does not have the awesome RRD graphs, but data collection by monitors and stats tracking are changed significantly. You will end up having to redo the backend work.

Don't think it is called prerelease yet.

We currently have an integration that graphs memory and cpu.

Network traffic is next.

@rafal: Any update on this? Specifically, any work you'd be willing to share?

Attached is the cacti integration we have performed (finally)

It requires a separate server + a DLL on labtech server ( so the graphs show up in tabs ).

Hosted version available for $100/month if anyone is interested. ( Depends on how many agents + "data" points will be setup per agent). The more agents and more data points the more cpu required.

It polls data every minute from the agent.

I was unable to see the integration information. Was the purpose to share or show off? :D

Hi,
what is the actual status of your integration with LT? Is it useable or buyable?

The purpose was to show what we have to see if there is any interest.

We currently are not using the cacti integration in favor of using newrelic.com ( free unlimited agents for monitoring ).

If someone is interested in the code email me with an offer.
